JAMMU, Mar 10: Reaffirming the resolve of the Government to fight corruption tooth and nail, the Minister for Revenue, Javed Mustafa Mir has warned that corrupt officials will not be tolerated in the administration. He said no stone will be kept unturned in providing transparent and corruption free administration to the people of State, adding those trying to indulge in malpractice will have to pay.
The Minister was commenting on a complaint received by him in connection with sale of land. “Observing discrepancy in the records, brought from Tehsildar North, Jammu, it was seized in presence of SSP and ACR concerned”, said the Minister, adding that the matter would be got investigated thoroughly to identify the culprits.
The Minister ordered for constitution of a committee, headed by a KAS officer and has been asked to submit report within a week so that guilty is identified and punished as per law.
Javed Mustafa said that this should be a message to all the field functionaries of Revenue Department that corrupt and delinquent officials have no place in the administration. He said grievance cells are being established in the Revenue Department at different levels to receive the complaints from the general public. He said a mechanism is being evolved in the department to make public delivery system more vibrant and effective.
