Haq directs for setting up monitoring cell in RDD

JAMMU, Mar 10: In order to strengthen   the service delivery mechanism and improve efficiency in the functioning, the Minister for Rural Development Department, Abdul Haq Khan has directed to set up a monitoring cell in the Administrative Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
Any aggrieved citizen can register his grievances on the toll free number 18001807021 and   e-mail at grievancecell.rddjk@gmail.com  for  their redressal. The monitoring cell will consolidate the reports from the concerned officers and provide the inputs on any kind of delay or laxity  on part of the officer concerned for appropriate action by the Government.
The Minister said that in order to change the citizen’s perception about the quality and efficiency of services delivered it is  vital  to  infuse procedural improvements in the implementation of various Centrally and State sponsored schemes  . He said a Nodal Officer has been nominated to monitor the implementation of various programmes including timely framing of works, estimates, technical vetting and accord of necessary sanctions, approvals and timely completion of the projects and schemes within  stipulated timeframe.
Assistant Commissioner Development ‘s, Executive Engineers, Block Developments Officers, Assistant Executive Engineers and Junior Engineers have been directed to ensure the  guidelines are followed in letter and spirit. They have also been directed to ensure that the works undertaken under the schemes are  completed within a stipulated time frame and a fortnightly report of their performance  is sent to the monitoring cell.
