J&K people don’t deserve to be held hostage: Vakil

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU,  Mar 10: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Abdul Gani Vakil today ridiculed BJP over its discourse on release of Masrat Aalm.
He said that people of Jammu and Kashmir don’t deserve to be held hostage and imprisoned merely for BJP style of politics, ideology and for diverting the attention of masses from issues of importance.
Mr Vakil said that Mr  Modi is trying to procure a shield from Kashmir to protect himself from pressures of RSS and Bajrang Dal besides hide his failures and compromises on ideology for a sole reason to stick to power at any cost.  He said  if BJP doesn’t subscribe to the ideology and agenda of  Mufti Mohammad Syeed of resolving the contentious issues through a political and amicable mode, it has no moral justification or reason to stay in alliance with PDP.
He said that it is purely the ‘Rule of Law’ in the shape of decisions of  Courts, which has prevailed upon in the release of Masrat Aalm and this country can’t afford dictatorship behavior of Central Government which certainly will widen the gap between the people of J&K and Centre and a consequence to it alienation will flourish. He said slogan of development and prosperity will become irrelevant if BJP’s dubious role creates instability in the State which is disastrous and counterproductive.
