JAMMU, Mar 10: The president of All J&K Retired NGO Police Personnel Forum (RPPF), Ajit Singh today met Director General of Police (DGP), J&K, K Rajendra and put up the issues and problems being faced by retired police personnel.
The Association president apprised the police chief of various problems being faced by the retired police personnel and put up the demands of the association for the welfare of retired police personnel.
The demands raised by Ajit Singh include, enhancement of medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month, 15% reservation for wards of police personnel in recruitment in Police Department, sanction of marriage fund amounting to Rs 50,000 at the time of marriage of their wards from Police Welfare Fund, sanction of Rs 50, 000 for last rites of police personnel at the time of their deaths, provision of free of cost medicines and treatment to the retirees from police hospitals and reimbursement of their medicals bills of the retirees out of welfare funds.
Referring to the ordinance issued by Central Government regarding one rank one pension for defence personnel, he demanded to bring such an ordinance in favour of State police personnel and get it passed.
He also expressed reservations over Government Order No 229-F of 2014 dated October, 17, 2014, saying the order is not acceptable to the retirees, since the effect is being given prospective.
The DGP assured the association president that he would try to take up the matter with the Government for consideration.
