JAMMU, Mar 10: PDP MP (Rajya Sabha) Nazir Ahmed Laway visited Jagti camp to take the stock of the problems of the displaced people putting up there.
The migrants put forth their problems before him and demanded immediate implementation of PM’s employment package hanging in balance for last eight years now.
The displaced Pandits informed the MP that the package of 6000 jobs which was announced by then Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh in 2007 has not been implemented in letter and spirit till date.
They said out of 6000 jobs only 2000 posts have been filled up till date.
The migrants also demanded that basic facilities be provided at Jagti camp and the problems of water scarcity, sanitation and electricity be solved on war footing basis.
They demanded enhancement of relief in view of the increasing prices and one time package for overage youth. They also demanded renovation and development of Mahaganesh Shrine at Hanand Chawalgam in Kulgam district of South Kashmir.
The camp inmates who put the community demands before the MP, included Hira Lal Raina, S K Bhat and Jawahar Lal.
