JAMMU, Mar 11: KiTEC Industries ( India) Ltd celebrated World Plumbing Day in a function organised at Trikuta Nagar here today.
The event was organised by the KiTEC Group in collaboration with M/s Aditya Enterprises, Satyam Road, Jammu in which about 400 plumbers from Jammu and other districts of the region participated. March 11 has been designated by the World Plumbing Council as the World Plumbing Day in 2010. Today was the fifth annual celebration of this day. The objective of the Day is to create awareness about the critical role which today’s plumbing industry plays in relation to public health and the Health of Planet Earth and surrounding environment.
KiTEC Industries promoters congratulated the initiators and other members of the plumbing community on this special day, emphasizing the importance of the plumbing industry in terms of health care and environment protection. After all, ensuring the adequate supply of drinking water and hygienic conditions through suitable installations, is the subject of the world wide relevance.
While referring to the importance of the day, K K Sharma, Managing Director/ Chairman of the Aditya Enterprises said that KiTEC is the pioneer manufacturer of multi-layer composite pipes in India who introduced this revolutionary piping system about 18 years ago. He said the company is organizing various activities on this day that includes medical check up camps for plumbers and their families, hosting lunch/dinners for the plumbers, entertainment programmes and distribution of rewards/ merit certificates among the members of the community. The event was followed by a grand lunch hosted by the company for the participating plumbers.
