JAMMU, Mar 11:  The Jammu Private Schools & ETT Institutes Association (Progressive) on Tuesday submitted a memorandum before Education Minister Nayeem Akhter, relating to burning demands for immediate sympathetic action and kind consideration.
The Association said that the service rendered by the private schools cannot be underestimated as they provide jobs & education to the people who otherwise are to be provided so by the Government.  “SRO 123 should be amended and introduced in Government schools too, the Association added and appealed the Education Minister to personally intervene in resolving the most urgent and immediate burning demands of the private schools.
Claiming that about 90 percent private schools are running with deficit budget and the staff engaged by them is paid the minimum possible wages, the Association said that charging them 12 percent as PF adds to the agony of these un-employed who resent the same badly. It is therefore requested that Government should squarely bear the expenses to the extent of 26 percent as PF in favour of un-employed educated youth which will go a long way in helping them, it explained.
Resenting the Government decision of declaring Private Schools as Commercials Institutions, the Association demanded that the private schools be excluded from the purview of Labour Department. They urged the Education Ministers to intervene into the matter personally and issue necessary directions to the concerned authorities to save the private schools of undesired financial strain and subsequent harassment.
