Madan, Sham dedicate community hall to people

JAMMU, Aug 3: As a part of Government initiatives to upgrade the public utilities, like community halls, shopping and residential complexes over vacant land thus making it a recurring source of revenue generation besides providing employment to educated youth through self employment scheme, Member Parliament, Jammu-Poonch constituency, Madan Lal and Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma today dedicated Rs.25 lakh community hall at Kabir Sabha, Akhnoor.
This state of art community hall has been constructed over an area of 4200 sq feet with an estimated cost of Rs.25 lakh by the Road and Building Department under MPLAD.
Speaking on the occasion, Madan Lal Sharma said that acceptance of the justified demands and taking right action to redress the grievances of the people is important ingredient in the public delivery system of Centre and State Governments. He said that various measures, aimed at ameliorating the lot of weaker section of the society have been initiated during the last over three years which are showing visible impact on ground.
Speaking on the ocassion, Sham Lal Sharma said that faster development of the area was receiving priority attention  of the present Government and various schemes in health, R&B, PHE, tourism and education sector have been initiated to ensure equitable development of the area. He said that during the last three and half years of the Government over 360 link roads have been constructed under various sectors.
Listing the measures taken by Government to uplift socio-economic condition of the people of Akhnoor block, the Minister said Central Government has sanctioned Rs.12 crore for establishing receiving stations in the area. He said work on B. Sc Nursing College and Ayurvedic College is in full swing and their completion will facilitiate the people to great extent.
On the occasion, the MP and the Minister also announced Rs.20 lakh for construction of Maharaja Gulab Singh Jio Pota Library at Akhnoor.
Responding to the local needs and demands, the Minister said that Government is conscious of the difficulties of the people of these far-flung and backward areas. He said these areas are now given focused attention and many special schemes and development projects have been devised to match their requirements and needs. He sought cooperation and support from the people in the effort of the government in this regard. He said all such special projects and programmes on completion would benefit local populace by empowering them socially and economically.
Earlier, the Minister visited the Sub-District Hospital, Akhnoor and enquired about the health of those injured in a tragic bus accident that took place at Karatal this morning.
