PDP stands exposed in prisoner release drama: NC

JAMMU, Mar 12: National Conference lashed out at PDP and Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for enacting a petty, unbecoming drama over the release of prisoners by wrongly trying to portray that it was Mufti Sayeed’s decision while facts have emerged to prove this as a blatant lie.
NC Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani said that it was clear now that Mufti Sayeed had conveyed it to BJP leadership that the decision to release Masrat Alam was taken before Mufti became the Chief Minister.
“Documents and official communication from the State Home Department has clearly proved that the process paving way for Alam’s release was started way before Mufti Sayeed became the Chief Minister. PDP rushed in to get political mileage from a process that they neither initiated nor were involved in. And this lie was propagated by none less than the Chief Minister of the State”, he said.
Wani stated that the PDP-BJP Government had absolved itself of the responsibility of governance at the very onset of its tenure and had rather chosen to invest its time and energy in theatrics. This, the NC Provincial President said, was part of a larger effort to divert attention from a historic sell-out by PDP on significant political issues like AFSPA revocation and Article 370 restoration. “We saw PDP trying to create moral smokescreens before this alliance was forged. Then we saw PDP promising to release the CMP before the alliance – which was never done. Eventually we found out that the CMP was a hollow document that has formalized PDP’s complete and absolute surrender on key political issues around which the party had formed its political rhetoric since its inception”, Nasir added.
NC Provincial President also lashed out at Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for facilitating the effortless entry of VHP President Praveen Togadia into Jammu to spew communal venom in the State.
