State pensioners demand release of pending DA installments

JAMMU, Mar 12: All J&K State Pensioners’ Association under the chairmanship of Madan Lal Abrol, general secretary of the association, today held a meeting wherein the speakers demanded immediate release of pending DA installments.
The speakers flayed the Government for not releasing DA @ 10% with January 2014 and 7% D.A from July 2014, 6% DA from January 2009 to July 2009, pending with the Government.
The speakers said that the association had held a demonstration at Governor House last month where they were assured that pending DA and 6th Pay Commission installment would be released in few days. “But unfortunately, the Government has not released the same till date”, they regretted.
While speaking on the occasion, Abrol said that Government is not serious to solve the problem of the pensioners. He also highlighted other demands like enhancement of medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month, merging of 50% DA with basic pension and additional quantum of pension in favour of State pensioners like pensioners of Central Government.
The prominent leaders who addressed the gathering were Yash Paul Sansan, Raj Kumar Basnathia, Mulkh Raj Sharma, Harbans Singh, Mohd Shafi, Joginder Kumar, ML Sharma, Bushan Pargal, Rafiq Mohd, Kali Dass, president Backward Classes, Jagdish Dogra and others.
