Shop catches fire

KATHUA, Mar 12: Uniforms and other material worth thousands of rupees were gutted after a shop dealing with sale of police uniforms caught fire here late last night.
According to police the shop belonging to Ravi Mahajan, son of Dharam Paul Mahajan situated opposite to District Police Lines (DPL) Kathua caught fire late last night due to short circuit when no body was inside the shop.
After seeing the blaze people living in the vicinity rushed to the spot and broke shutters of the shop to control the fire which had engulfed the entire shop inside.
They also rang the fire brigade which rushed to the spot and controlled the fire from spreading to other shops in the area.
However till then all the goods stored in the shop had perished. Kathua police has registered a case under relevant Sections of the law.
