JAMMU, Mar 12: A deputation of NYC State Association called on the Minister of Finance Dr Haseeb Drabu and Minister of Education Nayeem Akhter here today in Civil Secretariat Jammu.
The Association apprised the ministers that they were deployed in 2010 under a Centrally sponsored scheme National Youth Corps (NYC) for the period of two years in the State Government departments. Keeping in consideration of our demand for continuation of service, the State vide its Cabinet decision number 192/CIR/2014 dated 22-10-2014 and Secretary Education vide order number 737-EDU of 2014 engaged 6000 NYC youth as a contingent workers in school Education Department against the vacancies which were created in newly 800 upgraded school of State, they explained and urged the Minister to issue formal order of their engagement in this regard.
We are suffering from the last several years as we are without any pay after November 2012, they added and appealed the Ministers to personally look into the matter.
The Association met under the Chairmanship of Asif Ali Bhat, State president All JKNYC Association along with other State Association representatives and District presidents, who included Sayed Bakar Jafri, Mehboob Malik, Sunil Rajput, Ashfaq Mughal, Surinder Singh, Zakir Hussain and others.
