Rajendra takes stock of arrangements

JAMMU, Mar 13: In order to conduct the Police Public Mela in a befitting manner, efficient arrangements have been made at different levels of various committees, constituted for the mega event. The day long Mela is being held in Jammu on March 15, 2015 (Sunday) at Gulshan Ground here.
Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar said that all arrangements for 25th Police Public Mela have been finalized and the Mela is now all set to take off in a befitting manner.
Mr. Rajendra said this while inspecting the venue this afternoon to took stock of the arrangements made for the grand event. He was accompanied by organizing committee members of the Mela. He was apprised by the Mela Nodal Officer, Atul Sharma said that more than 60 stall holders from across the State have reached the venue along with their goods and have established their stalls at the identified spaces. He was informed about various items displayed in different stalls representing all regions of the State. He also discussed the security, traffic, parking space, police bandubast, sanitation, entertainment and other facilities for the visitors.
Mr. Rajendra enquired from the organizers about the facilities provided to the stall holders during their stay. He also emphasised upon them to make security and traffic arrangements in such a way that the visitors reach the venue without facing any inconvenience and common people don’t face any problem.
The DGP discussed the arrangements made for the inaugural ceremony of the event to be begin at 10 a.m. and conduct of raffle draw for 1211 prizes which will be held at 4 p. m. in the presence of public. It was decided that to make the draw in a transparent manner, small children from the gathering would be drawn to pick up the lucky tokens. People have been advised to come with original raffle draw tickets and get the prizes on spot.
Earlier, Chairperson JKPWWA, K. Vijaya Rajendra along with other PAWWA members also visited the venue and discussed in detail the arrangements for the visitors and children taking part in painting competition, amusement, tamboola and other items during the Mela.
