Gupta for ensuring quality healthcare facilities

UDHAMPUR, Mar 14: Minister of State, Finance and Information Technology, Pawan Kumar Gupta has underscored the need for providing hassle free treatment facilities to patients.
He stressed upon health functionaries for keeping better coordination in the working of the hospitals to ensure quality treatment facilities to the people.
This was stated by the Minister while reviewing the physical and financial achievements registered by District Hospital Udhampur under Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS).
The Minister emphasized upon the hospital management that health care of the people is on the top most priority of the Government and asked the concerned to ensure best nursing care to the poor and needy people in the district.
Mr. Gupta directed the hospital management for ensuring proper sanitation in and around the hospital. He emphasized upon the engineers to complete the ongoing works of the hospital in time bound manner with assurance of utilization of quality material. He said that Government would ensure all possible assistance for upgrading quality healthcare facilities in the district.
Thread bare discussion was held on the issues like  shortage of staff, Implementation of NPHCE & National Programme for Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Stroke, Hypertension and CVD diseases, upgradation of OPD Services, laboratory and blood bank, X-ray, USG, CT Scan, operation theatres, emergency and casualty.
The issues like out sourcing of sanitation and security, approval for diet, bio medical waste disposal and construction of Bio Medical Waste disposal also came under discussion in the meeting.
Earlier, Medical Superintendent of the hospital gave detailed resume of the functioning of the hospital.
Among others, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Arun Sharma, Programme Officer, ICDS, Krishan Lal, Executive Engineers of PWD, PHE & PDD, representatives of NGOs and senior officers of different departments besides representatives of NGOs  attended the meeting.
