JAMMU, Mar 14:  BJP State president and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma today inaugurated Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) at village Mathwar having adopted it under this yojana.
“Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana” (SAGY) initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to give practical shape to the dream of the Mahatma Gandhi, who had envisioned Indian villages as being neat and clean, having all the modern amenities like connectivity, electricity, portable water etc.
Speaking on the occasion Jugal Kishore said that after more than 65 years of independence Narendra Modi has displayed extraordinary commitment for the upliftment of rural people by adopting the scheme to fulfill the dream of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. He said that Mathwar is being adopted on account of its total lack of modern amenities and the entire surrounding area being most backward and undeveloped.
By adopting Mathwar, Jugal said he wanted the people of the entire area get enthused and inspired to stir themselves out of centuries old economic and social un-development. He asked the residents of the village Mathwar to depute some volunteers for effectively executing the various improvement schemes under the yojana. These volunteers will interact with various departments and guide them in implementing the scheme most efficiently in the village.
Sharma was accompanied by District Development Commissioner, Jammu, Ajit Kumar Sahu and other officers from 27 departments who are to implement the various aspects of this scheme.
Ajit Kumar Sahu, on the occasion, said that the “Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana” is not only about providing usual amenities, like lanes, drains and electric polls, but envisages all round and total holistic development of the entire area.
Short Nukkad play was also enacted on the occasion.
Mathwar Sarpanch Ram Pal Sharma and Panch Baldev Sharma briefed the MP and the DDC about the problems being faced by the people and stressed for early solutions.
