JAMMU, Mar 15: The work on much talked about Dul Hasti Phase II Kishtwar will start from next year.
This was announced by Union Minister of State in PMO with independent charge of North Eastern States, Dr Jitendra Singh while inaugurating a national Seminar-cum-Exhibition, Kissan Mela, Entrepreneurship programme and flower show which was organized by Indian Institute of Integrate Medicines (IIIM) at Chatha Farm near here today.
Dr Singh said the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the project has been made and submitted to Union Power Minister Pyush Goel and work on it will start from next financial year.
He said the project will be constructed by NHPC which has the full technical know how of executing such big power projects in the country. Terming it a great achievement of the 9 month long Narendra Modi Government at Centre, Dr Singh said besides boosting the power generation in the State, it will also create employment avenues for people of this hilly belt.
Highlighting the other achievements during his tenure as MP and Union Minister, Dr Singh said that work of Rs 150 crore Keediyan -Gandyal bridge in Lakhanpur area of Kathua district has been started along with 45 kilometer road linking to Punjab and it relieve the people of routine traffic jams. The tenders for the same will be floated soon, he added.
Besides, the foundation stone of Rs 80 crore Technology Park was also laid at Gaati Kathua which will be constructed by Ministry Science and Technology. For this project the land was acquired by State Government recently and transferred to IIIM.
Dr Singh said that another such park has been proposed in Srinagar Kashmir.
In addition to it land has been acquired for the settlement of 500 families of border migrants in Hiranagar while the emoluments of SPOs and PSOs have been increased from Rs 3000 to Rs 6000.
He said for the construction of roads survey has been conducted by ASI and new KVs will be established at Gandoh and Bhaderwah in Doda district.
The Union Minister said Saddal– a flood ravaged village has been developed as a smart village and 58 villages in Machail area which have no networking facilities earlier were given tower facilities. Besides new 15 FM radio channels are being established. For this criteria of the population from one lakh was reduced to 50,000, he added.
He said in addition to it eight more ambulances were given to Udhampur district.
He said IIT,AIIMS and IIM for J&K, upgradation of sports stadium for the State etc are the other projects announced by NDA Government for the State.
Maintaining that Modi Government believes in presenting the data of its achievements instead of opposing others Dr Singh said that the performance of his nine months as MP is self evident.
Maintaining that the J&K has lot of natural resources and potential for development Dr Singh regretted the same was not partly explored due to ignorance and partly deliberately.
While referring to Phalse Juice a new product launched by IIIM during the conference today, Dr Singh said this is the real juice available from Jammu. He acclaimed the role of IIIM in extraction of this juice.
About another product perfume which was also launched by IIIM today, Dr Singh said it is same set of perfumes which will not be available in outside market less than Rs 10,000.
Earlier Ram Vishwakarma, Director IIIM gave his welcome address and highlighted the objective of two days conference and flower show.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Y S Bedi while the function was attended by Dr R K Raina, Dr Abdul Rahim, Maj Gen (retd) Goverdhan Singh Jamwal.
Earlier Dr Singh took a round of flower show during the National Seminar-Cum-Exhibition.
