POONCH, Mar 15: The police today seized a Tata Sumo vehicle and arrested its driver for over loading passengers and also carrying filled LPG cylinders on the same vehicle, risking lives of the passengers in Gursai area of Mendhar today.
Officials sources said that SDPO Mendhar, Surinder Choudhary was on tour to the area when he noticed an over loaded Tata Sumo vehicle. About 20 passengers were on board and some of them were found sitting on the roof top. Some LPG cylinders had also been loaded. Sumo normally carries 10 passengers.
Upon this, the Police party seized the vehicle and arrested its driver Shahid Abbas from Jarha Wali Gali. The vehicle was also moving towards same village from Mendhar. The police registered a case in this connection.
