JKPCC passes resolution to back Manmohan Singh

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today passed a resolution to back former prime minister Manmohan Singh in the coal blocks allocation case.
“This one-day meet of the executive body of JKPCC fully endorses the step of AICC president Sonia Gandhi to express solidarity and stand solidly behind the former prime minister in the coal blocks allocation controversy,” a resolution passed by JKPCC said.
The resolution said “the entire rank and file of the party believes in the capabilities of leadership, honesty and integrity of Dr Singh and the highest standard of values maintained by him throughout his life in the service of the people and that he would stand vindicated and come out clean in due process of law”.
The meeting was presided over by JKPCC president Gulam Ahmed Mir here today.
The state unit appreciates the step taken by the AICC chief to extend the whole-hearted support to seek legal remedies in the democratic setup over the issue so that majesty of law and justice prevails in the matter, it said. (Agencies)
