NYK to launch 60 days Punurjagran Yatra Campaign from tomorrow

JAMMU, Mar 17: Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, Jammu, is going to organise 60 days Punarjagran Yatra Campaign under National Flagship Programme as Prime Minister’s “Jan Dhan Yojana”, Swachh Bharat Mission-Clean India Campaign motivation to facilitate construction of toilets under Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan, participating in Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojna, Beti Padao-Beti Bachao and promote good governance, shramdan and promote voluntarism/nationalism from March 19.
This was stated by SS Kashyap, Deputy Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Ministry of Youth Services and Sports, Jammu during a press conference here today. Advisor NYKS Sohail Kazmi and Sukhdev Singh, Zonal Director, NYKS were also present on the occasion.
SS Kashyap said that the main objectives of the programme is to make aware and educate youth leaders from NYKS Youth Club and Mahila Mandals on contemporary local issues confronting village communities and youth in particular as well as opportunities available to address them. Provide information on the avenues for getting training for skill development for gainful employment and prepare youth for highest standards and level of volunteerism and selfless service for humanity and society, he stated. “Empower youth to assume lead role and act as catalytic agent for socio-cultural, political and governance change towards inclusive growth. Promote the spirit of nationalism, proud to be Indian, equity, universal brotherhood and national unity. Share their experience and ideas, debate various issues concerning the unity representatives of PRIs and local administration. Strengthen and enhance existing network of youth clubs and Mahila Mandals with representation from all sections of society”, he added.
He further disclosed that during the campaign, the activities will be based on different themes through nukad nataks, skits, film shows, conduct of neighbourhood Parliament session, discussion, lectures by experts, group meetings, open house discussion and question and answer session.
He added that three chariots will be delivered by NYK Jammu with all facilities like public address system, exhibition panel, audio visual arrangements, cultural equipment, IEC materials, banners, flags, etc. These three chariots will cover 100 villages in 60 days, groups of 20 trained youth NYK Jammu will be the part of each chariots. These chariots will cover all the blocks of Jammu district.
The programme will be planned with the aim to facilitate the poor villagers with the scheme launched by Prime Minister, he added.
