Govt orders termination of re-employed employees

JAMMU, Mar 17: In a bid to rid the State of the scourge of nepotism and to rejuvenate administration, Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today issued termination orders of all re-employed employees.
The Chief Minister also ordered that engagements, arrangements made by the different Departments, Public Sector Undertakings, Boards, Autonomous Bodies under any scheme against any sanctioned posts without any selection procedure, even on Contractual basis, shall also cease to exist with immediate effect.
The Chief Minister issued these directions to restore the credibility of the administration, so that it works in a fair and transparent manner.
The Chief Minister also ordered that any other engagements, arrangements made by the Departments, PSUs, Boards, Autonomous Bodies at their own level shall also be governed by the instructions of the Government.
Meanwhile, Finance Department has also issued a complete ban on appointment of casual laborers by various departments and PSUs.
As per a circular issued by the Department here today the Administrative Secretaries and the Managing Directors of all State owned PSUs were asked that not a single casual, seasonal and need based worker is engaged under any circumstances without the prior specific approval by the Chief Secretary after the matter is examined in the Finance Department to assess the need, justification of the same.
The Government also warned of serious consequences for any default in this regard by Administrative Secretaries, Managing Directors and heads of departments.
In this connection the Government has also withdrawn the delegation of powers regarding engagement of casual and seasonal laborers with immediate effect which were granted as per Government order number 239 F of 2005, 138 F of 2013 and 105-PD of 2010.
