RAJOURI: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Deepti Uppal today inaugurated a mega employment fair. This fair was organised at Sunderbani by the Department of Employment and Counselling Centre Rajouri.
Stressing on the need to promote self-employment, DDC said that the unemployed educated youth should avail the benefits of self-employment schemes started by State and the Central Government and establish their own income generating units so that they become ‘job provider ‘ rather than ‘job seekers’.
She further said that this region has enormous potential and unemployed educated youth should adopt entrepreneurship as career prospective and establish their own business.
Over 50 stalls were installed by all the line departments including army and police to create awareness among educated youth about the various state and centrally sponsored schemes. Placement drive started under UDDAN also got a huge response from the youth. Approximately about 200 unemployed educated youth per block applied for screening test.
Earlier, DDC inspected the stalls and impressed upon the resource person to give detailed awareness to the intending youth about the viable and economically fruitful units so that the youth get motivated and reap the benefits of self-employment schemes. He directed them to aware the general public about woman oriented welfare schemes particularly. Banks stalls were directed to highlight education loans, agriculture loans and small and medium enterprises loans.
On the occasion, information about the benefits of the SWACH BHARAT ABHYAN was also disseminated among the general public by means of Nukkad Natak presented by Jan Jagran Kalakote.
Later on, a scintillating cultural programme was also presented by the artists that entertained the audience.
Among others, ADDC Veer ji Hangloo, CEO Tourism Mushirmirza, SDM Sunderbani, Hitesh Gupta, SDPO Shagun Shukla, ARTO Shammi Sharma, DSWO, Mehmood, CDPO Bhumika Sharma and other seniors officers were also present on the occasion.
