JAMMU, Mar 18: While Jammu- Srinagar National Highway was partially cleared for one way traffic today, the stranded Kashmir based and Doda-Kishtwar passengers held protest demonstration at Bus Stand on B C Road here on the fourth day today.
An official spokesman said that the massive landslides and boulders at Kheri near Udhampur on National Highway were cleared this morning by the BRO men and machines and the highway was restored at around  11.15 am. There was again disruption  for some time due to rolling down of some more boulders and mud but it was again cleared and   the traffic was restored at around 3 pm.
All the stranded vehicles between Ramban and Udhampur were cleared. No vehicles were allowed to move towards Srinagar or Doda-Kishtwar from Jammu side today. If the weather remained clear, tomorrow will be up convoy, the spokesman said.
Meanwhile,  a large number of stranded passengers hailing from Kashmir valley, Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban held strong protest demonstration at Jammu Bus Stand today. They demanded that they should be airlifted to their destinations. They also alleged neglect from the Administration and maintained that they faced lot of hardships at Bus stand and also consumed the money they had with them in last three-four days. Later, senior police officials and also from district administration  visited them and assured that road has been cleared and they will be allowed to move towards Kashmir and Doda tomorrow morning.
