Zulfkar reviews development works in Rajouri

JAMMU, Mar 18: Minister for CA&PD, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali, today convened a meeting to review the physical and financial status of ongoing development works in Rajouri.
The Minister reviewed the progress on various roads and other development projects including Kotranka JNV road, KK road, Khangar Gali road, Parinar and Khutti road, Rajouri-Darhal road, Bagh to Chitibati road, Darhal bridge to Chityal road, Buth Khanari road, Huggi Bagyalkot, PHC Samote, Degree college Budhal and construction of school buildings under RMSA.
Zulfkar directed the officers to identify suitable land for construction of Primary Health Center Samote besides ensuring speedy completion of Degree College Budhal. He directed Executive Engineer  to  chalk out proposals under CRF for construction of road from Kewal Morh to Targain via Gotu and Palma to Mandar Galla via Trala for the next financial year. He also asked the officers to prepare modalities for 6 new road projects under NABARD on need basis.
Reviewing the progress under various projects, the Minister directed the officers to ensure expeditious execution of development works to extend their benefit to the people. He also asked for keeping a strict check over quality of works besides ensuring judicious use of funds as the effort should be to create sustainable assets catering area specific developmental needs.
Describing road link as life line for state’s progress and prosperity, the Minister said that the Government’s prime focus is to expand a viable road network in every nook and corner of the State. He also sought cooperation from general public and said that their role is very important for  carrying forward the developmental initiatives .
The Minister asked the officers to raise crash guards along narrow roads especially in the upper reaches of the district. He also asked the officers to check feasibility of the projects taken up.
Among others Chief Engineer, Executive Engineer and Superintendent Engineer of PWD besides concerned senior officers attended the meeting.
