JAMMU, Mar 19: Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar today issued directions for registration of FIRs against the employees of Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education (JKBOSE) and School Education Department for facilitating copying and unfair means during the examinations.
Mr Naeem, who is disturbed over BOSE and School Education Department employees playing key role in facilitating mass copying and unfair means during the examinations, held a meeting with Deputy Commissioners of all the districts through video-conferencing and directed them to observe anti-copying week from tomorrow.
“You should spare time and pay surprise visit to examination centres every day so that this menace is checked and those involved in the same are taken to task”, sources said quoting Education Minister’s direction to the Deputy Commissioners.
He said that this deep-rooted menace cannot be tackled alone by the School Education Department and JKBOSE in view of the fact that employees of these departments are themselves involved in facilitating the menace.
Describing copying and unfair means as menace worst than drug peddling, Mr Naeem asked the Deputy Commissioners to lodge FIRs against employees of School Education Department and JKBOSE in case they are found involved in this menace. “You should submit reports about inspection of exam centres regularly to the School Education Department, Civil Secretariat, so that departmental action like dismissal from the service is also taken against erring employees”, he further directed the DCs.
