Teachers Association takes up issues with Education Minister

JAMMU, Mar 19: A delegation of J&K Teachers Association headed by its chairman and president EJAC Abdul Qayoom Wani met Minister for Education Nayeem Akhter and raised the problems being faced by the teaching community in particular and the employees of the department in general.
During the meeting, Wani raised various issues including release of pending SSA/RMSA salary, regularization of incharge officers and lecturers of Education Department, promotion of class IV employees, pay anomalies of master besides new transfer policy.
Wani stressed upon to resolve the pending salary issue of SSA/RMSA teachers which has put the teachers along with their families in mental trauma. He expressed resentment against the step-motherly treatment of MHRD Ministry towards the J&K by keeping their salary withheld.
Education Minister assured the delegation that the problems being faced by the teaching community will be redressed on priority and accountability will be maintained by the Department besides curbing corruption, redtapism, favouritism and transparency in all the matters will be ensured.
He also focused on better teacher-child relation and urged upon the teaching community to improve work culture in Education Department.
