JAMMU, Mar 19: The National Business Research Conference on `Sustainable Resource Management’ organized by The Management School, Kathua Campus, concluded today.
Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, was chief guest during the valedictory ceremony.  Anil  K  Munjal, Vice President-HR, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd,  presented the valedictory address, while JU Vice-Chancellor Prof  R D  Sharma  presided over the ceremony.  Deepak Bharara, Chief HR Officer Lanco Infratech Ltd. New Delhi was the special guest on the occasion.
Dr Nirmal Singh, in his address, talked upon the relevance of theme for future interfaces and dialogues. He said that the quest to create a balance between the science and nature needs to be nurtured. This can be done by bringing a change in the way we introspect the outer world so that our generations can yield the benefit of current actions.
Anil K  Munjal   elaborated on management of resources with political, social, cultural and economic interfaces.  He stressed upon the circles of sustainability that need to support the fragility of North-West Himalayan Region, thereby affecting the landscape on various fronts.
Prof  R  D Sharma,  in his presidential address, said that the relevance of self introspection for evaluating ourselves and tendencies is the need of hour and linked sustainable development with the ancient inferences drawn from ancient texts.
Prof  Neelu Rohmetra, Rector Kathua Campus, JU,  presented a brief conference report and informed that during two days,  deliberations revolved around the fact that sustainability cannot be developed and imposed on a community, small or large scale, and thus  success depends on participation and implementation by the community.
She further informed that the conference received 90 extended research proposals, out of which 65  were accepted after careful screening, and 40 papers were presented in six different technical sessions.
Prof Desh Bandhu Gupta, Director CDC l, presented concluding remarks while Dr  Bhanu Pratap Singh, conducted the  valedictory  proceedings.
President Chamber of Commerce Rakesh Gupta, president Bari Brahmana Industrial Association, Annil Suri, members of the civil society, JU officials,  faculty, scholars and students were present on the occasion.
Earlier during the day, two keynote sessions were held. The keynote speakers  were Deepak  Bharara, Chief Human Resource Officer, Lanco Infratech ltd, Gurgaon and Prof Dipanker Sen Gupta, HOD Department of Economics, JU.
Deepak Bharara spoke on  the Role of HR Profession in Sustainable Resource Management    while Prof  Dipankar spoke on  Sustainable Business and Public Policy in North-West Himalayan regions.
Prof  Anil Raina, Rector Udhampur Campus chaired the keynote sessions.
