JAMMU, Mar 19: Former Speaker and National Conference MLA, Mohd Akbar Lone today had a tiff with Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Ch Zulfkar during the Question Hour in the Legislative Assembly.
Mr Lone was highlighting the issue of unemployment and stressing that this should be the priority issue of the Government. “Instead of saying that no proposal is under consideration, the Government should provide unemployment allowance to the educated unemployed youth as their patience is running out”, he said.
However, CAPD Minister, Ch Zulfkar interrupted him and tried to say something. This infuriated Mohd Akbar Lone, who remarked, “Aapko Mirchi Kyon Lagti Hai……I have also remained on the position you are presently holding. You have become the Minister but that doesn’t mean that you behave like this”.
Meanwhile, former Minister and MLA from Banihal, Vikar Rasool faced an embarrassed situation in the Assembly after he raised the issue of shortage of staff in the hospital in his constituency.
While raising the issue of deaths due to accident in Shaitani Nullah area, Mr Rasool said, “on one side people are dying for want of medical facilities and on the other side the Government has failed to provide adequate staff and critical care ambulance in my constituency”.
He was interrupted by CPM MLA, Mohd Yousaf Tarigami, who remarked, “you were Minister few months back and now you are raising this issue”, adding “this means that you too had discriminated with your area”.
Facing embarrassment, Congress Legislator resumed his seat.
