Chander Prakash reviews arrangements for Purmandal Mela

JAMMU, Mar 19: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash today visited Purmandal to take stock of arrangements made for the annual mela being organized by      Uttarbehni Shrines Development Committee.
Minister of State for Culture, Education and Information, Priya Sethi and MLA Samba, Rajinder Manyal accompanied the Minister.
Chander Prakash, while extending greetings to the devotees, expressed hope that such events provide us an opportunity to pure our thoughts and improve upon our shortcomings for creating a better world to live in.
The Minister said that it is the endeavour of the Coalition Government to provide better road connectivity to such historical and religious destinations. He sought public participation in maintaining proper upkeep of facilities at such tourist spots.
Speaking on the occasion, Priya Sethi assured that efforts would be made at all levels to develop such religious destinations to promote pilgrim tourism in the State. She added that there is dire need of preserving our historic and religious monuments.
Priya Sethi said that holding of such religious events help in further strengthening of communal harmony and tranquility in the society.
Earlier, the 18th Holy Chhari Yatra was taken to the shrines of Purmandal and Uttarbehni on the occasion of Chetra Krishan Chaturdarshi. The Yatra was given befitting reception enroute by the people of different faiths.
The Ministers, earlier paid obeisance at the shrine and prayed for peace, progress and prosperity of the State.
