Bukhari calls on CJ, discusses issues related to judiciary

JAMMU, Mar 20: Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and Relief and Rehabilitation, Syed Basharat Bukhari today called on Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Justice N. Paul Vasantha Kumar.
During the meeting, issues related to judiciary and judicial infrastructures were discussed.
The Minister assured the Chief Justice that Government is keen to address all pending issues related to judiciary. He said, for justice dispensation, it is important to further strengthen coordination between the two main pillars viz Judiciary and Executive, and the Government will ensure that right steps are taken to identify and address the issues faced by the judicial officers.
The Minister said, to reduce the pendency of cases in the Courts and for ensuring inexpensive and speedy justice to the people, ways and means could be explored and acted upon so that justice delivery system is strengthened in the State.
Issues related to execution of different projects for construction of judicial infrastructure in the State including construction of District Court Complex at Mominabad Srinagar, Lawyers Chamber at High Courts, District court Complex at Pulwama, Udhampur etc. were also reviewed in the meeting.
Justice, Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, Advocate General, Reyaz Ahmed Jan, Registrar General, High Court, Kaneez Fatima, Secretary, Law, Justice and PA, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Additional Secretary, Law, H L Sethi and Principal Secretary to Chief Justice, M Y Akhoon were present in the meeting.
