Governor, CM greet people on Navratras, Navreh, Nauroz

JAMMU, Mar 20: N. N. Vohra, Governor, has greeted the people on the auspicious occasions of Navratras, Navreh and Nauroz and prayed for their well-being and prosperity.
In his message of greetings, the Governor observed that the Navratras have a special significance for the devotees who visit the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Deviji in large numbers during this auspicious period.
The Governor extended warm greetings to all the people who celebrate the day as Navreh and Nauroz, the beginning of the New Year and the onset of Spring.
The Governor prayed for this auspicious period being the harbinger of harmony, brotherhood, amity, peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has also greeted the people of the State.
In his message, the Chief Minister said the festival has wide ranging importance for the people across the world, apart from religious and heritage point of view.
Since the day is also observed as World Arbour Day, the Chief Minister called for massive plantation drive and added that mankind is inseparably linked to wellbeing of trees and forests.
He also laid stress on the need for effective measures to conserve forest reserves and bio-diversity for posterity.
