JAMMU, Mar 20: All J&K ReT Teachers Forum has strongly condemned various orders issued by the Chief Education Officers on the alleged direction of the Government during video conferencing yesterday, in which it was ordered that all the ReT teachers whether regularized or un regularized be disengaged from any type of exam duties of 10th class and 12th class besides exempting them from such duties in future also.
The forum convened meetings at District Headquarters and condemned such approach of the Government towards ReT community which is the back bone of the department, as more than 60% schools in far flung areas are totally run by ReT Teachers.
The Forum president Vinod Sharma said that it was only due to ReT Teachers that locks of around 2000 schools were opened where other Teachers could not attend their duties due to various reasons.
Since 2000, More than 60,000 ReT Teachers have been engaged and half of them have been regularized as general line teachers but still they are treated step motherly by the Government as well as by the Education department, the meet said and reminded that
ReT Teacher have been engaged in various sensitive duties like: Election duties, Census duties, Survey duties, booth level officers (BLO) etc. “Why they have been exempted from board exam duties, is still not clear, Vinod Sharma said.
