KPs ask political parties to fulfill Shrine Bill promise

JAMMU, Mar 21: Hindus of Kashmir has high hopes that the present Government would fulfill its commitment to enact the temples and shrines bill for the protection of the temples and shrines in the valley of Kashmir.
This was stated by Dr R L Bhat, the chief spokesperson of the Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust, the nodal organization of the exiled Hindus of Kashmir, after the general body meeting of the Trust held at Badshah Kalandar Ashram, Patoli, Jammu. He said that both the parties in power today are cognizant of the need for the protection and preservation of the temple heritage of Kashmir and have given definitive promises to bring the temples and shrines bill.
Among those attended the meeting were Dr A N Pandita, B L Handoo, R L Bhat, M K Bharat, R K Bhat, Manmohan Thaplo, B L Saraf, Shiban Khaibri, H L Bhat, Roshan Lal Pandita, B L Bhat, M K Jalali, Sundri Lal Koul, M L Ganjo, M K Wanto, B L Zar.
The meeting also noted that the exiled people were united in their struggle and had credible leadership spearheading the burning issues of the community. The Temple and Shrine Bill was one such demand on which whole body of the Hindus of Kashmir were united.
It was pointed out that the then PDP leader of the Legislative Party, Mebhooba Mufti had announced her support to the Temple and Shrine Bill on the floor of the House. Likewise the National and State leaders of the Jammu and Kashmir BJP had also promised categorically at the Chetna Divas celebration that the party was one with the concerns and aspirations of the Hindus of Kashmir to have a legal mechanism for the protection and preservation and management of the temples and shrines in the Valley and would get the bill passed in the legislature.
The speakers expressed resolute hope that the leaders would stand by their commitments and get the temple and shrine bill enacted at the earliest, without waiting for the fag end of the legislature.
