K’taka Govt relents, seeks CBI probe into IAS officer’s death

BENGALURU : Karnataka government today recommended a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the mysterious death of IAS officer D K Ravi, whose body was found hanging in his apartment in the city on March 16. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah made the announcement on the floor of the Assembly that had met for the Budget Session at Vidhana Soudha here. He said the government was recommending a CBI inquiry as it was determined to bring out the truth. “We had decided to order a CID inquiry into the incident as we had full confidence in the state police and did not want to demoralise the force by ordering a CBI inquiry. But to honour public sentiments and the views of the parents of Ravi, I have decided to recommend the Centre for a CBI inquiry into the incident,” he said.
