JMC organizes sanitation awareness camp

JAMMU, Mar 23: A sanitation awareness camp was organized today by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) at Municipal Veterinary Office, Dogra Hall, Jammu.
The camp was organized on the instruction of Soujanya Sharma (KAS), Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jammu.
Sat Sharma, MLA Jammu West was present on the occasion as a special guest.
To immediately redress the grievances related to sanitation of Zone-II, pamphlets having the contact numbers of sanitation staff as well as other officers of Zone-II were also released on the occasion. The MLA also distributed uniforms to the Safaikaramcharies.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma as well as Commissioner, JMC made the people aware about ill effects of smoking, polythene and importance of cleanliness. In this regard, phamplets were also distributed during the camp.
The people were advised not to throw the garbage and waste in every nook and corner and instead use identified collection points and dustbins installed by JMC for the disposal of garbage.
The camp was a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
The MLA also flagged off the vehicle for distribution of Steel and Wooden wheel barrows to improve the sanitation of wards falling in Zone- II. He also assured full cooperation to the Municipal authorities in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
The others present on the occasion were Kapil Sharma (KAS), Joint Commissioner (Adm), JMC Executive Engineers, JMC, Municipal Veterinary Officer, Sanitation staff of Zone-II as well as public in general.
