PRP discusses prevailing political situation

SRINAGAR, Mar 24: A meeting of People’s Republican Party (PRP) leaders and contesting candidates held here today under the chairmanship of Ghulam Mohammad Tramboo discussed the prevailing political situation in the State.
The meeting resolved to extend full support to the coalition Government provided it works honestly in bringing State out of present mess and equitable development of all three regions, eradicates corruption which has eaten up vitals of the society, works sincerely to mitigate the sufferings of flood victims.
The meeting resolved to resist all anti people policies and work for the betterment and upliftment of working class, upressed and suppressed and down trodden people of the State.
The meeting said that no undemocratic policy and programme will be tolerated which will further lead to alienation in the State as was done by previous regimes.
The meeting said the PRP will fight for better water supply, 24 hour power supply and timely ration supply to people.
It also warned that no individual leadership will be allowed to dominate the Party and the members will work as a collective unit in a total democratic way for the overall development of the State and protection of peoples rights.
The meeting among others was addressed by Mir Ghulam Rasool Butwani, G M War, M M Sheikh, B A Malik, Bikram Singh, Mukhtar Ahmed, Gulshan Din Gulshan etc.
The meeting also demanded security for PRP leaders who contested the recent Assembly elections in Kashmir Valley.
It also welcomed the release of 17 percent DA for employees and decision to regularize daily wagers.
