28 unfair means cases registered in Rajouri, Poonch; police seize large quantity of copying materials

JAMMU, Mar 24: The menace of copying in board examinations continued in twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch with police foiling a number of copying bids and recovered large number of books, reference books, guides, notes and other copying material from inside the examination centres in Mendhar and Surankote Sub Division of Poonch district.
As per sources, seven cases of unfair means were registered in district Poonch today and 21 cases in district Rajouri. Six persons were also taken into preventive custody in Surankote for external interference during examination and after concluding of examination, all were released.
Authorities framed 21 cases in Rajouri which include sixteen cases in Government Higher Secondary School Solki.
A team of Board led by its official visited the examination centre at GHSS Solki and foiled a major copying bid and framed copying cases against 16 students appearing in the exam.
Similarly in different examination centres of Rajouri district, concerned superintendents framed five unfair means cases.
A team led by SDPO Mendhar, DySP Surinder Chowhdary visited different examination centres where paper of EVS, Physical Education and IP was to be taken.
During visit massive copying bid was found going on in GHSS Dhargaloon  (centre no- 4507) after which cases were framed against two students bearing roll number 4507766 and 4507777 whereas one case was framed against a  student in GHSS Dhargloon (centre no- 4506) bearing roll no- 4506776.
Similarly during visit to GHSS Bhatadoorian, police team foiled another copying bid and cases were framed against four students in GHSS Bhatadoorian  (centre no- 4508) bearing roll number 4508737, 4508738, 4508739 and 4508751 were found indulged in unfair means.
Meanwhile police team led by SDPO Mendhar, Surinder Chowdhary also seized cheating material from the possession of students in GHSS Dhargloon and GHSS Bhatadoorian which was surprisingly kept inside the examination centres so as to carry out copying practice.
On the other hand, a police team from Surankote sub division of Poonch led by DySP Ajay Sharma visited Government Boys Higher Secondary School Surankote where paper of class 12th was going on and managed to unearth a major bid of copying by seizing a large number of books, guides, reference books, notes and other copying material kept hidden inside the examination hall so as to facilitate copying practice.
Police team also acted tough against outside interference near the examination hall and took four persons in preventive custody who were released only after the paper ended.
Later police team also visited Government Higher Secondary School Lassana from where two persons were taken into preventive custody and were released only after the paper ended.
