MTA elects new executive committee

JAMMU, Mar 25: Medical Teachers Association (MTA) of Government Medical College and Associated Hospitals and Indira Gandhi Government Dental College, Jammu elected its new executive committee on Tuesday.
Dr Sunil Kotwal (Prof and Head-ENT) won the election as president with convincing victory over Dr SK Bali (Professor of Medicine and Head Nephrology).
Dr Ashok Sharma (Associate Professor-Eye) was elected as vice president; Dr Kailash S Thaker (Surgery) as general secretary; Dr Manish Singh (Orthopaedics) as treasurer; Dr Vishal R Tandon (Pharmacology) as press secretary and Dr Rajesh Sharma (Radiodiganosis) as joint secretary.
Other Nine Executive members are Prof (Dr) Sunanda Raina (HoD Anatomy); Prof (Dr) Sunil Sachdev (HoD Physiology); Dr Sanjeev Kumar Digra (Paediatrics); Dr Jyotsna Suri (Pathology); Dr Abdul Gani (Orthopedics); Dr Rajesh Mahajan (Anaesthesia); Dr Ishfaq Chowdhary (Medicine); Dr Shabab Lalit Angurana (Radiotherapy and Oncology) from GMCH Jammu and Dr Bhavana Kaul (Pedodontics) from IGGDC, Jammu.
The new elected team shall have two years of tenure as per the existing bylaws of MTA.
The new team of MTA said that with the support and co cooperation of all faculty members they will try their best to come up to the expectations. We are committed to provide best patient care to the society and general masses, best medical teaching to the students and at the same time shall play the role of bridge between faculty members of these premier institutions and the Administrative Department, said new president of MTA, Dr Sunil Kotwal.
