Vigilance books AE in disproportionate assets case

SRINAGAR, Mar 25: Vigilance Organization Kashmir has booked Assistant Engineer posted at TLMD-IV, Pampore, for accumulated assets disproportionate to his known source of income by resorting to corrupt practices.
A case FIR has been registered against the Engineer following outcome of verification conducted into the allegations that the said officer during his service, accumulated huge assets disproportionate to his known source of income by resorting to corrupt and illegal practices. Accordingly, the Vigilance conducted simultaneous raids at residences of the accused officer at Jammu and Srinagar. During searches, some incriminating documents were recovered which are under scrutiny.
The verification revealed  that the assets were  disproportionate to the  known source of  income, therefore  constitute offences punishable Under Section 5(1) (e), read with 5(2) J&K PC Act Svt 2006 and accordingly case was registered and the raids were conducted.
