14 injured as bus collides with water tanker

JAMMU, Mar 25: At least 14 persons were injured when a Jammu-Katra bus packed to its capacity collided head on with a water tanker at National Highway near village Kamini in Nagrota area of city outskirts.
According to the reports, the mishap occurred about 9 pm tonight when the bus (bearing registration No JK02AT-0657) which was on its way from Katra to Jammu collided head on with a water tanker having registration No JK02E-0129, coming from opposite side.
At least 14 persons including three children were injured in the mishap and were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment.
The injured are Bharti (19) daughter of Bagh Ram, a resident of Delhi; Meena (60) wife of Pyare Lal, a resident of Jalandhar; Shabu (38) son of Umrao, a resident of Jalandhar and his son, Vishal (11) and daughter, Sanjana (6); Rachna (30) wife of Inderjeet, a resident of Ramnagar (Delhi); Kela Devi (50) wife of Bak Dev, a resident of Ramnagar (Delhi); Harindri (40) wife of Girdhari Lal, a resident of Mathura (UP); Sunita (48) wife of Bhola Ram, a resident of Delhi; Tula Ram (32) son of Radhey Sham, a resident of Chhattisgarh and his son Balraj Patel (9); Saroj Devi (45) wife of Phool Singh, a resident of Jind (Haryana); Dharampal (42) son of Ram Krishan of Jind (Haryana) and Anil Kumar (30) son of Vijay Kumar, a resident of Ludhiana.
The Nagrota police have taken cognizance of the matter.
