JAMMU, Mar 27: The criminal silence of the Government regarding release of due share and Central share of SSA/RMSA is unacceptable.
This was stated by senior leader of JCC, president, J&K Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) and chairman, Teachers Forum, Abdul Qayoom Wani in a press statement issued here today.
He said the bills for 157 crores pending in Secretariat treasury and Rs 50 crores lying with the Planning Department are yet to be released to the society for which MHRD Ministry has stopped Rs 154 crores of 1st installment and Rs 550 crores of 2nd installment for the salary of 2014. “This move of the Ministry has put thousand of teachers working under SSA and RMSA in mental trauma along with their families”, he added.
Wani said, “The SSA teachers have not received the salary for last eight months, which is gross violation of labour Law. The Education Department also seems non-serious regarding the issue and nobody at the helm of affairs feels the pain of teaching community”.
Wani said that he himself met MHRD Ministry at New Delhi and State Finance Minister, Education Minister besides Commissioner Finance and Commissioner, Planning and Education, several times and put forth the pathetic condition of the teaching community before them, but unfortunately nobody paid heed towards them. “In this condition, teachers have no other option other than come on roads for their just and genuine demands”, he added.
He said that in view of sensitivity of the situation and negative attitude of the Government, EJAC is going to call an urgent meeting with all its affiliated units to formulate a joint strategy and going to announce a strong State level agitation if salaries are not released at an earliest.
He also appealed the Health Minister to take necessary steps for releasing the salary to employees of Health and Family Department and MPHW workers, who are without salary for last one year.
