Synchronized efforts vital to achieve tangible goals: Sajad

JAMMU, Mar 27: A seminar on the topic “One World One Health” was inaugurated by the Minister for Science & Technology and Animal Husbandry, Sajad Gani Lone in presence of Minister of State for PHE ,Irrigation & Flood Control, Animal Husbandry & Forests, Abdul Majid Paddar at SKUAST today.
The state level seminar was organized by the Department of Animal Husbandry Jammu.
Commissioner/Secretary Animal Husbandry & Fisheries, Ashok Kumar Parmar, Director Animal Husbandry Jammu, Directors of concerned development Departments, Dean Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry along with Heads of different divisions and Faculty members and students were also present in the seminar.
Speaking on the occasion, Sajad Gani Lone exhorted the need to evolve an effective mechanism to enhance the productivity of the live stock industry in sync with the demands of a disease free society. He said it is imperative that coordinated efforts are put in by all the stakeholders involved in the healthcare system to pursue the concept of one World One Health for all living beings.
The Minister asked the field experts to upgrade their skills and keep themselves well informed with latest techniques in vet sciences. He said that Government can chalk out policies but synergized efforts by all the stakeholders are vital to yield results on the ground.
Mr Lone stressed on making optimal use of the technical advancements in the field for enhancing productivity and provide benefits to farmers while maintaining that all efforts will be made to improve the functioning of the department so that the desired targets are achieved.
Abdul Majid Paddar highlighted the need for establishing an order wherein all living beings live in a state of reciprocal symbiosis. He emphasized on the dictum of live and let live.
Commissioner/Secretary Animal Husbandry, laid emphasis on climate change, consumerism and destruction of natural ecosystem which are conducive to the spread of disease.
Director Animal Husbandry emphasized on the fact that the issues under deliberations during the seminar would set a road map for achieving the set goals at the grass root level.
