JAMMU, Mar 28: The partnership of BJP and PDP would definitely leave an indelible mark on the democratic profile of the State with its visionary leadership and a firm determination of ensuring transparent, accountable and responsive governance to the people.
Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash stated this while addressing an awareness camp organized by Social Welfare Department, Samba at Dolian, Bari Brahmana, here today.
“We will set an example of good governance by giving a real meaning to the democratic institution in the State”, maintained the Minister.
He said that people will not have to repent for their decision of electing us as their representatives as the Government is working hard to revamp and revolutionize every part of the administration for a prompt and hassle-free public delivery system. “We are committed to weed out corruption and malpractices by putting in place a reformed and transformed dispensation for the people”, he asserted.
Exhorting the people to avail benefits of welfare and development schemes, the Minister said that Government’s prime concern is to extend benefit of all programmes to people but they too have a responsibility towards building a strong and progressed nation. He also asked the youth to adopt self-employment ventures rather than hankering after white collar jobs. “This will enable youth to create jobs thus containing the mounting unemployment problem which hampers progress of a society”, he added.
Later, the Minister inspected cremation ground at Dolian and directed the officers for improving facilities.
District Social Welfare Officer informed that this year Rs.1.75 crore have been provided to 3468 beneficiaries under Old Age Pension Schemes while Rs.3.34 crore have been disbursed among the 14,156 beneficiaries under ISSS. Besides, 25 cases would be sanctioned soon under Aam Aadmi Bima Yojna in the district.
