Omar visits Beerwah, takes stock of situation

SRINAGAR, Apr 1: National Conference Working President and MLA Beerwah Omar Abdullah conducted an extensive tour of Beerwah Constituency and took stock of the situation that has arisen due to incessant rains in the Valley.
Omar Abdullah held a meeting with Chief Engineer, Superintending Engineer and officers of the Irrigation and Flood Control Department at Magam, Beerwah and sought information from them about measures being taken in the area in view of the incessant rains and high water-discharge in Nallah Gogaldura, Nallah Dilwesh, Nallah Milnaar, Nalalah Madbab that flow through the area.
Abdullah asked the Irrigation and Flood Control Officers to take all possible measures to prevent any loss to life and property and also discussed the status of various particular areas that the locals have expressed their apprehensions about.
He also met with delegations of local public at Magam, Beerwah. The delegations apprised Omar Abdullah about various issues. Abdullah assured the delegations that he would raise these issues with the administration and seek their early resolution.
Omar Abdullah after meeting with the Officials and public delegations at Magam conducted an extensive tour of the constituency despite inclement weather and visited Magam, Palpora, Khag, Narabal, Poshkar Khaag, Nagabal, Kanigund, Goripora and Sukhnaag areas of the constituency and took stock of various incidents of land-sinking and weakening of embankments.
He also walked along the embankments of Nallah Gogaldura, Nallah Dilwesh, Nallah Milnaar and Nalalah Madbab at various locations accompanied by the locals and asked the administration to take stock of the damage caused and take immediate preventive measures.
Omar was accompanied by Political Secretary Tanvir Sadiq and NC Spokesman Junaid Mattu besides various party office bearers from the constituency.
