Speaker reviews development works in Gandhi Nagar constituency

JAMMU, Apr 1: Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today reviewed the progress of developmental works being carried out by various engineering wings in Gandhi Nagar constituency.
Commissioner Secretary PWD, Rohit Kansal, Secretary PHE, Parvez Ahmed Malik, Secretary (Technical) PWD, Bimal Tickoo, Chief Engineers, Superintending Engineers of various engineering departments were among others attended the meeting.
Reviewing the sector wise progress of developmental activities, the Speaker said that providing improved basic amenities to the people was the priority of the Government, adding that focused attention would be given to upgrade civic amenities in the Gandhi Nagar constituency.
The Speaker directed the concerned officers to formulate innovative plans for holistic development of city, adding that special focus should be given for improvement and upgradation of basic facilities like drinking water, power, education, road connectivity so that people do not face any inconvenience.
The Speaker directed PHE authorities to ensure adequate drinking water supply to the citizens of Gandhi Nagar and other areas of the city. He instructed concerned authorities for repairs and renovation of lanes and drains besides proper care of uninterrupted power supply in the city.
He also received appraisal about the status of various ongoing projects from the concerned officers taken up in Gandhi Nagar Constituency.
The Speaker also reviewed pace of progress of under execution Gandhi Nagar New Hospital Complex. He was apprised that Rs. 8 crore has been expended on this prestigious project during this financial year.
