CEC Kargil election on Apr 13

JAMMU, Apr 1:  The election of Chief Executive Councilor (CEC) of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil will be held on April 13.
The election was necessitated after the election of former CEC Asgar Ali Karbalaie as the Congress MLA from Kargil in the Assembly elections.
Official sources told the Excelsior that Principal Secretary to Government, Ladakh Affairs Department has issued notification for holding election for the post of Chairman LAHDC Kargil on April 13 at 11 am in the Conference Hall, Baroo, Kargil.
The Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, who happened to be the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of LAHDC Kargil, will conduct the election.
LAHDC Kargil has 30 members but one vacancy has arisen due to election of Karbalaie as the MLA. With this, Congress strength has come down to 14 as against 15 of National Conference. Previously, both the parties were tied at 15.
Among 15 NC Councilors, four were nominated by the Government, with voting rights.
