PHE Employees Association projects demands

JAMMU, Apr 2: District executive bodies of Water Works PHE Employees Association from Udhampur and Reasi held a meeting under the chairmanship of Som Nath, senior vice president of the Jammu provincial association.
During the meeting, Som Nath while addressing the gathering said that a clear plan should be laid down in the ongoing Assembly session to provide regular wages to all the workers.
He added that the Government should frame a policy to regularize the daily wagers and also provide them other benefits with immediate effect.
He also highlighted various other demands including release of pending wages, enforcement of Minimum Wages Act, regularization of daily wagers, arrangement for staff for schemes commissioned by PHE Department, benefit of qualification, change of designation, release of wages in favour of those who were engagement by the Department in lieu of their land and enhancement of wages.
The Association will launch protest against concerned Minister if pending wages are not paid among the workers at the earliest.
Among others present were Vijay Sharma, general secretary, Rattan Singh, Suraj Parkash, Baldev Raj, district president Reasi, Makhan Chand, Subash Chander, Jagdish Magotra, Krishan Chand, Chunni Lal, etc.
