Farmers protest, demand compensation for damaged crops

KATHUA, Apr 4: The farmers of border area held a massive demonstration here today demanding compensation for the standing crops of wheat and oil seeds which were damaged in heavy rains and hail storm.
The protestors demanded that the Revenue Department and Agriculture Department should constitute the teams to assess the losses of farmers whose standing crops were perished completely due to heavy rains and hail storm.
The protestors also decried the stoic silence maintained by the Government over the issue and said that it should immediately announce compensation for farmers whose entire crop has been damaged.
