LPEF holds protest rally

JAMMU, Apr 7: In a largely attended employees rally in Akhnoor town, Abdul Majid Khan, president All J&K Low Paid Employees Federation (LPEF) deplored anti-people and anti working class policies of the Government, today.
He made a strong plea to the Government to pay balance amount of 6th CPC arrears forthwith, raise minimum daily wage to Rs 350,  DA installment in cash instead of impounding it into GP Fund Accounts of employees, regularizing adhoc contractual employees who have put in more than seven years service, regularize village guards as class IV employees and in the meantime raise their remuneration at par with minimum daily wage in vogue in the State and enhance honorarium of Numberdars.
Other demands raised were regarding removing of pay anomalies of Clerical cadre and other employees, implementation of SRO 149 including SRO 59 in respect of employees of PDD.
Others, present were Babu Ram, Rattan Chand Bhagat, Thakur Dass, Bindra Ban and Ram Lal.
Later, they met in deputation with SDM Akhnoor and presented a memorandum of demands and seeking redressal by the State Government. Then they proceded upto main chowk to hold demonstration there.
