ULB elections will redress people’s problems: PDP

JAMMU, Apr 7: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) today said that the decision of holding the much awaited Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections in the State will redress the issues, being faced by the people.
This was stated by speakers during a meeting, which was attended by Nizam-ud-Din Bhat, Daman Bhasin, Mehboob Iqbal, Rangeel Singh, Qazi Mohd Afzal, Ved Mahajan and other leaders of the PDP.
The speakers said that the decision of the Cabinet for holding ULB elections comes at an appropriate juncture to restore the public institutions for economic restructuring and administrative activity.
“The decision is in tune with the party’s agenda of public participation at all levels as well as the strengthening of democratic institutions through electoral process”, they stated.
“PDP will lend full support to Government in every move aimed at rebuilding of the State in economic, political and societal areas”, they said.
They impressed upon the party cadre to reach out to people for proper moblisation and participation in the democratic activity, adding that Party will ensure successful culmination of the process.
