JAMMU, Apr 7: All J&K Retired Police Personnel Forum today held a protest demonstration outside Press Club against pay anomalies.
A large number of retired police personnel under the leadership Ajit Singh gathered in front of the Press Club and started raising slogans against the Government for ignoring them.
Addressing the protestors Ajit Singh said that the Government Order No 229-F of 2014 dated October 17, 2014 regarding pay anomalies is not acceptable to the association as the effect is being given prospective.
“With the implementation of this order a grave injustice has been done with the retired persons who has been struggling right from 1996”, he said, adding that from 2007 onwards the case was filed in the Court and during this period some strugglers even expired and now the surviving strugglers should be given justice by giving the effect of this order at least from 1996.
He further said that a writ was filed by HC Talab Hussain against State under No 3487/2014 in which he had demanded 2nd and 3rd time bound promotions. “Though the High Court has issued an order in favour of him on December 18, 2014 giving four weeks of time, yet the order has not been implemented till date”, he pointed.
Ajit Singh further alleged that two different cases under SRO 43 of 1994 are still pending— one is the compassionate appointment case of Manmeet Kour wife of late HC Gurmeet Singh (No 309/IRP-11th Battalion, PID No. 835472), a resident of tehsil Omara, district Udhampur and the other is the case of Constable Kahan Singh (No 558/U) who expired on November 15, 1998 while in service but his son jabbar Singh has not been accommodated yet.
He said many such cases are still pending and urged the police administration to settle these cases.
